GF- Thanks! I got the carpet from Stock Interiors and it fit decent, and took minimal trimming. And all the trimming was done with a "hawkbill" knife. Cut it like butter.

Mustang- Thanks. I'm confused too.  lolx I've changed my mind more times then I can count on this thing. However, the 454 is staying in this for the time being, and the Cummins pictured is for the '91 2500 seen in the bed install pictures. I mainly posted a couple pictures because I was just working on the adapter plate at the time. You have to cut a small ear off the block to clear the 6.0L starter.

ok,  for a minute there I thought you did projects like I do.  spend a fortune getting the engine to run perfect, and then decide to swap it out, spend hours buffing and polishing the paint, then the next day decided to strip it and paint it.  stuff like that lol.

K5Blazer just left the house from spending the day helping me on the truck. In not much time we managed to unbolt the front clip as a assembly. Since I didn't want to take it off in pieces, we had to get creative getting it off in one piece. That meant strapping my engine crane to the back of my utility body. A idea I borrowed from TWX. A problem came up when K5 broke a brake line on the utility body ( lolx), so that made things interesting backing the front end up to the K10. But we got it by inching it into place fine tuning things.

With it sitting in place we pulled the K10 back into the shop to take advantage of the heat, and go get some grub. After lunch K5 replaced the rusty battery tray with a nicer one I had, and we began bolting the front end on and setting gaps. It pretty much fell into place with little adjusting. The most adjust was needed with the hood, but it only took a couple trys.

Cool, a two-tone!

Glad that using the cherry picker as a ghetto crane worked.  Obviously not gonna double as a tow truck but for bulky stuff that's not so incredibly heavy...

It worked a treat. A large chain to secure the top of the hoist, and a ratchet strap to hold it tight to the bumper.

Thanks Luke! I have a lot of sentimental attachment to the squares myself!

I ordered new front leaf springs, and some Monroe's for the truck this morning. I also ordered some 1.5" mandrel bent tube to make my fill neck on the truck. K5 got to witness my sweet IV bottle because I have no way to fill the K5 tank currently.  lolx

It's nice to have help I don't have to hover over while they are working!

This evening i had a couple hours before the old lady got home. So I took the lift blocks off the back. No pictures not until the front springs are on. But I'm happy so far. Sadly I had to cut two of the old u bolts off. The replacement u bolts are Husky brand. I got them on ebay. All four BIN for $20! And they are beefy with thick washers and the tall fine thread nuts. Good stuff.

Was bored and decided to mess with the truck a little. Took one spring out the packs and pulled the lift springs out. Removing one of the springs is a experiment. Trying to get the front ride height down a hail lower the stock. From the factory these trucks normally have a "reverse rake." So instead of raising the rear I'm trying to lower the front. We will see.
