The Ridiculous Craigslist Toolbox Thread
« on: February 08, 2014, 12:12:52 PM »
After posting the $3000 'deal' in another thread for a bunch of sh/t boxes, I thought I'd start a thread re: the outrageous and ridiculous ads you see on Craigslist re: toolboxes, since there's plenty of them.

Post a link, text of the ad, and pics, since the link will only be good for so long.  No need to post any phone numbers or personally identifiable info.

I'll start it off...

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/tls/4316976113.html

I have an assortment 6 Tool Boxes with a variety of assorted tools in used fair condition. Two are a Snap-On set. Two are large Might Echo boxes with locking doors. I do not wish to split or part the boxes or the tools. I am asking $5000 which is substantially less than the value of these boxes and tools.
This car is a pile of crap. Noisy, rattly, slow and underpowered and has a reputation for being unreliable. I want one.

Within reason, I'm not going to knock too badly on where someone keeps some of this sort of thing.

One of my cousins keeps his restored vintage Ducati motorcycles in his house, a couple in the living room, one in the bedroom-turned-office.  He sold one fairly recently for six figures, so if it's worth enough then perhaps keeping it inside the house isn't such a bad idea after all.

If I had a vintage Ducati, it would sleep beside me at night and the wife would sleep in the garage.
I'm just a guy in a garage with some tools...

Well, his bikes started their second lives in his motorcycle garage under his house (the house is built on a slope, entire basement is the motorcycle workshop) and only came up to the living floor when they were completely done.

I know a guy that has a milling machine in his living room, his GF isn't really happy about it, he told her if it came down to the milling machine or her, he would keep the milling machine, the GF is still there (so is the milling machine)
