UNCLE BUCK, stay out of this thread!! EVERYONE ELSE, c'mon in!!
« on: December 28, 2010, 07:17:04 PM »
Alright fellas, here's the deal.  It will be up on the one year anniversary of the site before you know it.  I have done some conferring with the other mods and it's time to plan a gift for Uncle buck.  I would like to do a traveling card for him.  Basically, we get a nice card and mail it to members around the country.  Everyone will sign it and take a picture of it in their garage.  When you have signed it and taken your picture, you will then forward it to the next person.  You can all email me the pictures and I will arrange a nice slideshow on a CD for him.

Time will be of the essence here folks.  We can't have someone sitting on the card for two weeks waiting on them.  We need a one or two day turn around on this.  If you can't do that, please don't ask to be on the list.

You can all email me the pictures and I will arrange a nice slideshow on a CD for him.  I will keep track of addresses and let everyone know where to send it to, that way nobody will have to post the address out in the open.  Please PM me the address and email me the pics at:

jmtebbens@yahoo.com

I am still wondering about what type of card.  Do we use a standard Hallmark card or do we get an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of metal to all sign with a paint marker?  Ideas on this?

Count me in -- and I vote for a large Hallmark. It's the easiest way to go.

my thoughts are that it should be easy to ship. we need to be able to have it in some sort of protective packege that can be easily shipped. say get it one day and just drop it in the mailbox the next day with a couple stamps on it. if it spends monthes floating around in a crappy envelope that is what it will be.

Good idea.  I will stop by Staples tomorrow and find something that will work for protection.

That scalloped box end is one of the few BB features that doesn't make Elroy puke

Neat idea, count me in!
This car is a pile of crap. Noisy, rattly, slow and underpowered and has a reputation for being unreliable. I want one.

I'm in! A tube might be the way to go so the card doesn't get trashed.

May be instead of a CD we could put it on one of those digital picture frame things that scroll through pics.  shrugx

Perfect.  I got one for Christmas that I was looking to regift anyway.  That is a wonderful idea.

We are going to have to make sure that everyone's pictures are taken with the same orientation.

That is easily fixed. More important will be the size, but that can be fixed also as easily. All should be jpegs.

Sounds good, but I'll have to find someone else's shop to take my photo in.
