What did you do today?
« on: January 15, 2011, 01:15:10 AM »
I realize that not every project is epic or picture worthy, but all the same its the mundane shtuff that really pays the bills.
We all showcase our buys and even the stuff we make, but what did you do with the tools?

Today three of us went on site and installed a tranny in a ford 555 backhoe.   We got the motor bolted  up too, finally off the blocks.   Saturday we go back to finish the job getting it all put back together.  Still a lot of details and smaller repairs to get done on it.

I have to go finish grouting a tile shower  :(  All the tile is in, and most of the grout is in, just have to go back and touch up a few spots.  Took me 40 hours just to set the tile

I delivered a used tool box, sold a few tools, sold some pressure washer parts and went online to find a sunshine shovel for the Strik9 road trip ;D

Man those sunshine shovels are rare!!!
That scalloped box end is one of the few BB features that doesn't make Elroy puke

Yeah, they are.  I asked in over 15 stores and none have one.  I am using an old flat shovel now  but the sunshine sticks to it and it gets heavy. panicx

My dull day looks good in relation to tiling and grouting.  With the weekend coming up I have a wash machine to look at, those are always fun.

That looks great.

I picked up a Mega shifter for my project, just one more item off the list!

Today I should be out in the shop tearing into the steering column, getting it ready to be shortened

Just going to work, started a new job a couple of weeks ago and I am swamped. Don't even have time to log into the gazette during lunch or something to get my mind of computers and user problems. Hopefully things will get under control in the next month or so, so I can breathe and enjoy the gazette some more. O:-)

Saturday I took our old dog to the vet for her annual checkup, she is 16 years old.
Went to two pawnshops and bought NOTHING!
Then I went out and shot some photographs, my other passion, visited with our son, put together a box of tools and cedar for trading purposes.
Today is quiet, Mama has a cold. Granddaughter came by to sell us Girl Scout cookies.
Right now I am setting up the grill to cook some pork spare ribs.
I need to shoot some wrenches to make a new improved logo for Tool Talk later.

Everyone in our house is sick. I slept in my son's bed with him because he is VERY sick with two ear infections as well, yuck. Now, I am watching the AFC Divisional game and posting on here.

Got together with eight or nine other guys from church and we cut and split a bunch of firewood for folks in the community that are a little down on their luck. Bunch of good old boys, chainsaws, 4-wheel drives and mud. Good times. grinx Then we headed back to church for homemade pizza for lunch.

We got the ford 555 up and working.  Still a few details to get to but the worst is over.  I had to hand wash my work clothes because tomorrows job is the washer....I haven't had daylight to look at  it since it broke.

Of course there will be a run to the plaza for a rust and chrome fix too.
