I agree with your assessment -- but the Lotus badge is probably not part of the original. That said, it looks like a quality antique car -- just look at the wheels.

I think the badge came on the thing. Looks to be some sort of plastic or fiberglass to me, body and badge alike too.

Hi all,

Thought you may want to know that I ended up buying this.
She is/was Made by Pines of Italy/USA and sold via Mobo Toys in UK from 1968-70. Its a British Racing Green plastic bodied representation of Jim Clark's Lotus 40/Indy Car with 'Lotus Powered By Ford' badge. Originally it had a handle for a sound box.
Sadly this one is missing a number of parts and parts for this are not available anywhere (trust me I tried)
I'm going to be overhauling all the metal, having the body cleaned and re-sprayed and using it as is.
I'm only aware of about 3-4 that are complete in the world and none of the owners will lend me parts to have 3D printed equivalents made (understandable) let me know if you have any further questions and id be happy to answer.

Very cool.  Post up some pictures as it comes along.  I'd be interested to see it.
