All I can say about a trailers like these is a $1000 is the difference between a trailer you can own for 25 years or more or  about 7-10 myopinion

Yeah not a fan of the upright ramps.
As for towing my heaviest car is around 4800, the 2 trailers PJ and Big Tex both weigh around the same at 2420 which gives a total of 7350.
My Effey is rated at 11, 300 so im good . That being said I may be able to con a mate with a Dodge 3/4 diesel to make one trip and he`ll get the caddy lolx .
There`s a few to move but not all run , I`ve considered a semi truck car hauler and will look into the cost of one run.
It`s still early days so im just thinking out loud at the moment.

Looks like it gunna be a PJ but without wheels and tires. I`ll have to modify the fenders to fit the taller 16s though.
Interesting side note, both Big Tex and PL trailers are now owned by the same company  shrugx

This is the one I`m getting next week. I've added a spare tire holder and the fenders to accommodate the 16inch rims and the cold weather wiring.

I picked up a used  Smittybuilt hitch mount winch cradle to make a set up like the one in the pic.

After doing ton`s of research I`m just about convinced on theses tires.. I know they`re Chinese but theres tons of great reviews on the web and at $143 no tax free shipping shrugx

Be sure you get ELECTRIC brakes - on all 4 wheels!  Get a BIG mutha deep cycle battery to run the winch and wire it in as the emergency power supply (breakaway) for the trailer brakes as well.   Wire your harness to keep the trailer battery charged as you go down the road

I used to be a dealer for flatdeck trailers - believe me there is HUGE difference between good ones & junk, but often not all that much price difference.

Now THAT looks like a good 'un!

I agree 100% with all your option choices, too.  Word of advice - with the ramps - depending on the car you are loading onto the trailer, you may find that the car high centers during the loading/unloading.  (Mine does all the time!   angryguyx)

Carry a couple of extensions for the ramps .   I use a pair of  2X8"s with a angle iron reinforcements and a couple of cement blocks to raise the ends of the steel ramps.

Tie-down points (loops) on the trailer frame are often overlooked when spec-ing out a trailer, and a mount for the trailer's spare tire and you'd have my dream trailer (looks a lot like mine!)
