Ralfeboy aka eyebolt man, Conductor562, Fins413. we need to send out a mia patrol.
There is a very fine line between a hobby and a mental illness.

Does the need justify the want ? Or does the want suffice?

Merk sent me a PM around Christmas. I replied ASAP with a nice reply and strongly suggested he become active here again. Sadly he did not reply back to my PM. I encourage others to message Merk as well. It is my feeling he could use a few kind words these days.
You boys better hold on cause i'm gonna have to stand on it!

Yes I talk to him once a month or so.  We hope to get together soon.  He got a new job at the University and is doing well.  His hobby now is trains, old ones, especially steam engines.  He sold his K5 and isn't really working on cars much.  He has become a volunteer conductor at the B&O train museum in Baltimore and spends a lot of time there, at least during warmer weather.  I need to get him up here with his Solus to work on 2 of my vehicles panicx

lostmind,

Platy is still here... he's just posting less frequently.  He may be extra busy or on the road more.

Don't think I've seen Altec lately

I’m reading everyday, but at times, I have little or nothing to offer.

Also the minor house fire on 12/31/17, didn’t help. My furnace caught on fire, yes I know this is suppose to happen, but the preferred operation is the fire on the inside of the furnace, where as on mine the fire was on the outside. No loss of property or possessions, no real smoke damage, but it did require a new furnace. Well it could have been repaired, the quote was in the $2500 range, but the total replacement was in the $2800-$3000 range. To me, it was a no brainer.

Regardless of the cost, any expense in that range, just after Christmas, was akin to a kick to the nads.
