Long Beach Swap 11/12 Edition
« on: November 13, 2017, 11:10:39 PM »
This was the next to the last Long Beach swap for the year. Not a lot of stuff weight wise but I'm pretty happy with the haul and I can carry it in one hand.

The odd socket is a Snap-on for the bolts used in the old Chevy stovebolt engines. It was especially usefull for starting the oil pan bolts. There were two sizes this is the smaller one. The two ignition wrenches at the top are Williams and under them is a Blue Point the rest are Snap-on.

A nice assortment of brands the Vlchek is a new one for me.

The little adjustable is made in England an exciting find.

And an unexpected jewel - a Plomb keychain screwdriver. Someone carried this one a long time so it was quite treasured.

As alien as it gets.

That is a lot for a handful.   I am liking the pile of tiny wrenches.

Nice finds Steve -- I'm interested in a closer look at that socket. I think somewhere in my mess of odds-'n-ends I may have a twin from my grandpa's day. Never knew about its use.

I'd like to see a closeup, too.  I'm trying to recreate a WWII-era Snap-on Super Service Set and I'm wondering if that is the 3/8" drive F-21 socket I'm missing.  Would be good to know what I'm looking for!  :)

Thanks,

Bill

It is an F-21 the photo is a little blurry but it should show the marking. If you need it PM me.

They are all marked Not Guaranteed for some reason.

The collar at the bottom floats freely within the sheetmetal cage. There is a spring underneath it that is barely visible in the image.

Below is an example of a stovebolt.

Gotta dig deep for the small ones eh, always at the bottom.
There is a very fine line between a hobby and a mental illness.

Does the need justify the want ? Or does the want suffice?
