Lawn Mower
« on: August 16, 2017, 07:29:59 PM »
Okay guys....

My mower, (that was bought by my father when I was a kid, and was handed down to me) has crapped the bed.

Looking for a newer push mower

Let hear your experiences with certain brands.....

I don't think I can justify a rider, only have a third of an acre. Most of the yard is not rider friendly either. If I could find ride that can push a plow and doesn't have a huge deck, I'd consider it. But most are larger (has to share the shed with my bike) and a stretch for my budget.

Hahaha so tis.
There is a very fine line between a hobby and a mental illness.

Does the need justify the want ? Or does the want suffice?

My uncle had a neighbor who parked an old van in his yard.....

Threw the side doors away, tied a goat to the van, every few days he would move the van lolx

Honda push mowers are the best. I have a couple HR-214 mowers that are self propelled. I love them. They starts on one or two pulls , 2 speeds. They are a bit pricey tho. I bought all mine used on CL for $ 100.00 or less.

Get one of these. I had one and their great. Not much bigger than a push mower. Can make tight turns. Cheap and any 8hp engine will run them.
I even mounted a beer holder on mine.

I'm just a guy in a garage with some tools...

Bruce.

I bought a Snapper for my son similar to the JD.  It wasn't much but it lasted him 3 seasons.  Found a much nicer one at a sale with not deck for $15 and we swapped the deck out.  He replaced the blade and drive wheel and it has been good.  Won't say it mows nice, but it mows.

As far as pushers, I second the honda

Well I spotted this on Craigslist on Thursday night. Picked her up today.

It's in good shape for being a 1990.

Fired right up on second pull when checking it over. Mowed my yard this afternoon.

Definitely going to take some getting used to, my lawn looks like a hack did it, had the deck way to low first pass lolx

The seat and deck will get fixed next spring. I'll finish out the season this year with how it is.
