This Tractor Sucks

Well, Agri-Fab, manufacturer of my leaf vac said it wasn't possible to use it with a rear mount mower.  Really?  It works in Tennessee....

Damn -- I need something like that. I have a tow-behind Agri-Fab sweeper that sweeps leaves off the lawn into a hopper, but your rig takes the cake. I could have been done in an hour with that thing.

Does the need justify the want ? Or does the want suffice?

Believe it or not, I do.  Every time I use it.  Not for the faint of heart...

Darn nice set up.  How big is your yard?

How often do you have to empty the bin.

GF, I didn't think your yard was big enough for a rig like that :POKIE:

yes, it's only a half acre Phil, but I have four huge maple trees that drop leaves like crazy. The sheer volume is amazing. That vacuum would be overkill, but it would be nice to have and make a tedious all-day job a thing of the past.

I am presently getting ready to go outside and hook up my lawn sweeper to my John Deere lawn tractor. I have a lot of maple tree leaves and pine needles to sweep up and take over to the burn pile. This is a Fall chore every year.

I'm  a nature lover.  Those leaves are on the ground for a reason and therefore they will jolly well stay in my yard until nature takes them
away.    Same reason I use only Bio mowers in the yard.   I put an in abtrusive electric fence just out side the flowers next to the house.
but it works well.   the leaves become fertilizer that helps the grass grow

Had 2 80 ft maples in the front yard, got tired of cleaning up and had them whacked lolx  Mama then decided 2 pines out back had to go.  I have no remorse.  As much as I like mature trees, I don't want them in my yard.

Yard is 2.5 acres - house, garage, drive = maybe 2 acres mowed.  Probably empty the bin about 20 times each fall.

EDIT:  Maybe more like 30-40 loads per season...

Trees make shade for the house and help keep the place cool during the summer, but they also increase your vulnerability  if forest fires are an issue in your neighborhood.

It's hard to manage if a 200 foot high tree is showering your house with flaming debris.
