We were not aware of member MachinistChest's passing.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  I have started a topic for MachinistChest in our Fallen Wrenches section.

Yeah, It was sad ,I never met him, but he helped me out a number of times on line. Seemed like a nice guy.
I also brought some things from his site, and need a few more.
I will check the new post.

anyone have any info about the machinist chest site/store Said to be open this month?
I sent a few e mails but never did hear back.
Hope they don't raise the prices, and the service is still good.
You are aware that John passed away at an early age? Early 50's.

When I finished my apprenticeship my Grandfather gave me one of his Gerstners as a gift.  In turn I gave it to another family member when he finished his.  I'm sure that there are better boxes out there but a Gerstners in a shop means that the owner has "arrived".
If it ain't broke fix it until it is.

Well, it' not a Gerstner, but that's part of the problem. The repo drawer pulls and what I see on Union boxes on the net have 3 nails. Mine have 2, so I am not sure of the brand. There is nothing in the interior to indicate the maker.
Any thoughts of what brand this might be ??  I sold off some boxes recently, but hung on to this small guy to play with.  Thanks.

Brian

PS: I am posting in the Wanted section, looking a bottom drawer and a front panel.

Finding the drawers would be near on to impossible I would think. Beings it is not a Gerstner would make it that much more of a challenge I would think. I think if it was mine I would have a decent cabinet maker replicate the drawers as best he could.

As for the pulls, if I could not match what was on it I would actually pull the originals and replace all of them with ones that were a match to each other for the entire box. Even if I was pulling the original pulls I would to do it that way. I like things to match and design to remain consistent. I would not dispose of the original pulls but I would replace what I needed to so that everything matched.
