It is a disease I tell ya
« on: July 31, 2016, 12:15:20 AM »
I cannot help myself. Try as I might I cannot stop dragging stuff home I really have no business buying. Bought this over the phone for something less than the asking price today and will bring it home tomorrow. I really need to be out of town and in the country where having stuff like this setting next to your shop does not make every neighbor look at you like you are Fred Sanford.

Oh well, such is life, I am what I am and likely will always be. I have an extra Wisconsin engine of roughly the same size setting in the side garage so I am thinking of doing an engine swap and restoration with this. Needless to say the wife is absolutely so happy about this new treasure she is all but beside herself with glee and wasted no time sharing her delight with me........... Bslap   mobx

At that price I'd have bought it too!

I'm just a guy in a garage with some tools...

I am dealing with the opposite problem currently, my wife is the one that finds most of the stuff I have in the garage, and is finding it faster then I can get it all installed.  She almost daily come out to the shop with some tool she has found for a good price.  As good as it sounds I am trying to get everything move to where I can use the stuff I have and hoping to have a Midwest meet for this forum.  I have 30,000 sq feet and not enough room to work in my garage.  On a positive note I have a guy coming with a trailer to haul some of the mowers I have not had time to fix up.

The one in this you tube video is almost identical except I think the engine might be some bigger and I know the compressor is much bigger. However the basic layout, platform and components are much the same just a bit smaller than this and setting on an axle with pneumatic car type tires which I like better than the steel wheels this one sets on.

When I found this video that was what made me decide to buy it over the phone. Going to pick it up with BIL here in a bit.

I stumbled across this old thread and decided to give an update. When I bought the compressor it was missing its original carb and air breather assembly. As you might imagine finding the missing parts for a fifty year old Wisconsin that is not just a garden variety size engine but a real whopper could prove challenging. Pre internet days I would have never even considered attempting to find the missing parts and would have just passed on the deal. I was able to buy the missing parts from an elderly vintage garden tractor enthusiast in Washington State though so I lucked out.

As many here know my quest to clean, organize, paint and declutter my shop continues and I am making good progress. I have hopes of rolling my compressor in some time over the summer and seeing if I cannot resurrect the old Wisconsin engine and get it running for starters so there is still hope for the old girl yet.
