Well that sucked.  I went to pick it up today and half the welds were cracked.
I was tempted to get it anyway and fix them myself but he wouldn't come down at all in price.  I was pretty pee'd off, having drove 1.5 hours each way
with a borrowed truck and trailer.
I told him if he changes his mind on the price to call me.  I still want it but couldn't bring myself to get screwed like that.
I'm just a guy in a garage with some tools...

If half the welds were cracked, who knows what other nightmares it could have been hiding.

Smart move in walking away. Sometimes the cost of "taking a look" at things is well-spent insurance.

Move on and keep on smiling, its not the only buggy out there.

Smart to walk away Bruce. I was wondering about condition of the frame after seeing that picture of him airborne. If you don't have the suspension to handle the landing the frame will suffer.

Good move Bruce!  Grinding out cracked welds and re-welding the joint is not a fun or easy job.

Good call Bruce. Was it VW beetle transaxle and front beam? The Challenger class buggy I used to race was that configuration, about 4" of suspension travel. Not really suitable for "older" people like Bruce and I. That is why I moved to an RZR, 16"/18" of suspension travel is like racing an arm chair after the Challenger.

The rental in full flight (Racing my mate's Challenger, with my numbers on it, while mine had the engine out).

Rural, it was indeed VW transaxle and front beam.  It's pretty disappointing how it worked put but ya, it's probably for the best.
I might have injured myself but I would have had fun doing it!
I'm sure I'll find plenty of other ways to hurt myself without it.  Never had an issue there. lol

Blue dog used to post some videos of the desert trucks running. Watching the front suspensions work was amazing. :-\ :-\ my back hurt just watching.
Started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Loved the promo videos of the trucks tearing up the streets in a little town.  Nothing like running over curves at 80 mph and not batting an eye.  Jumping through intersections lolx
