1/4" Drive Box Sets (a rogue's gallery)
« on: February 25, 2012, 03:40:37 PM »
It's a cold wet day here in the northwest and I need a little diversion to pass the time. I've been wanting to see a thread with every kind of 1/4" drive box set anyone can post. I have searched and have not found one here or the other channel so if it has been done let me know. If it hasn't been done I'd rather see it here where it's more old tool friendly. Anyway I'll start this with one of my favorites, a mid 40's c-man circle U set. please post em up.

Some nice ones already, like that Firestone. A Proto Los Angeles about 1950.

Knova tin, slightly modded. Powerbuilt sockets, Wurth ratchet, CM ratchet and a few other odds and ends of various brands.
Last I checked the CM  ratchet was pulled and a few more deepwell sockets added.

This is a full SAE /metric shorty setup that one day will sport a full mixed set of SAE deeps.  I'm working on it as the stuff pops up in the markets.

Here's a vintage 1/4" drive set you don't see everyday; a Ward Master (made by Wright) with a fresh paint job:

And here's a slightly later Ward Master partial set I've cobbled together:

Don't know if this plastic case was original or not, but it keeps the family members together.

I love strik's line of thinking, he doesn't get all hung up on brand specific sets ,or it seems, country of origin. And He's not affraid to use the shit out of 'em beerdude

Here are most of mine they have been up before. I've kind of specialized in 1/4" drive since they are small and generally cheaper. More to come.
