Ratchet Pictures
« on: September 23, 2010, 04:57:58 PM »
Well in response to a request for pictures to help with identifying different ratchets and brands I'll post pics of many of the different ratchets in my collection.I'll try to add model numbers for all that I post but I'm not getting into doing a tooth count on them unless someone has a need for a specific ratchet. There are just too many to take the time to tear into them all.

I'll start off with a Chrome-Alloy #4070.1/2"dr,Alloy artifacts says it's a prerunner to SK IIRC.

Craftsman V selector 1/2"dr. Marked with a =v=,no part numbers.

Herbrand VanChrome S-10.1/2"dr.Sliding selector, made in Freemont Ohio.

A Husky 3183,1/2"dr,sliding drive plug.

Very nice pics.  I have one of the inderstro open tooth.  Very nice ratchet with lots of character!
That scalloped box end is one of the few BB features that doesn't make Elroy puke

Uh...that's not possible.

That Gray ratchet looks like one of those Par X ones.  They always go faster than I have a chance to get one.

I can tell you I don't have money but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.

Got all those pictures saved and the ratchets added to the spreadsheet. Waiting for the next batch.

Are all those 1/2" drive? A couple don't have the drive size mentioned.

I'm not getting into doing a tooth count on them unless someone has a need for a specific ratchet. There are just too many to take the time to tear into them all.

A tooth count should not require a tear down. Put a socket on the ratchet that would permit you to determine when the ratchet had completed a full 360 turn. Count the clicks.

I would expect that most ratchets wouldn't require a tooth count for positive identification.
