Hydrovane Compressor
« on: November 09, 2016, 08:00:10 AM »
Anyone have any knowledge on Hydrovane compressors?
I recently sold my McMillan 16cfm 3hp (Aussie compressor) to a bloke who was a bit short on the price so I got his non working Hydrovane 501 as a part payment.

The pump is ok but the motor is toast. Looks like the start/run throw out didn't work and it's fried the internals.

I have sourced a compatible single phase four pole motor which will bolt straight on at around $250 Aussie dollars but as yet haven't placed the order.

Has anyone used one of these? I'm told they are very quiet in comparison to a reciprocating compressor and put out a lot higher FAD for less power?

Any knowledge or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Alan.
