Sparta and Westcraft
« on: April 20, 2018, 10:46:09 PM »
Picked these up today.  The 5/8" Sparta wrench is missing and has a filler.  Anyone got a spare?  The speeder in the Westcraft set is a Billings.  The jack is an 8 ton.

(shoe pic for Bruce)
This car is a pile of crap. Noisy, rattly, slow and underpowered and has a reputation for being unreliable. I want one.

The jack is a Walker and I think Sparta was made by New Britian.

NEED A 1/2" BONNEY STREAMLINE COMBINATION AND ANY OVER 13/16" TOO!

Great grabs. Yes Sparta = New Britain = good stuff. Are those the same wrenches that were later sold as Challengers and Blackhawks among others? They look familiar. I really like the socket set too. Indestro stuff is just cool IMO.

Nice finds. What’s the crowfoot box wrench up in the corner?

Cool grabs
That scalloped box end is one of the few BB features that doesn't make Elroy puke

The Westcraft set is particularly neat!  The Sparta wrenches are the first I've seen in that style - sure look mighty similar to some Huskys and a few NBs.  The few Sparta ones I have are raised panel ones.

Cool!!!!

No real markings, it's a 9/16"

Gang,

Is it just me or does the Westcraft  set look Duro-Indestro?  I'm not seeing Billings.

Gary, I think said the speeder was Billings, not the rest

I am virtually positive that most WC (Western Auto) stuff was DI. In fact I am positive of that fact. That has been covered here and at GJ through the years too. The long answer is you are correct Gary.  thumbsup2
